Oral plaque is the bacteria that live within your mouth, which may lead to gingivitis and cavities, and eventually cause periodontal or gum disease. Keeping your mouth clean with regular hygiene is the best way to prevent oral problems. Sticky layer of substance in your mouth often contain bacteria and evolves into plaque buildup. There are parts of your mouth where bacteria generally gather as they're not properly cleaned when tooth brushing. Bacteria may develop in your mouth without proper hygiene through the foods you consume. It's a widespread knowledge that sweet foods are sources of oral plaque buildup but there are more sources that you may unconscious.


Your mouth gets harmful acids every time you consume starches, such as cookies, loaf of bread and cereals. Without having proper hygiene, these chemicals can cause irritation, redness and bleeding in your gum as oral plaque begins to exist in the mouth. Cavity enducing plaque can lead to to periodontal disease, which then greatly affect the foundation of your teeth. You might be made to accept that you can’t have your teeth forever if your dental issues are not addressed immediately. Thankfully that all these issues and complications can easily be avoided through daily brushing with soft-bristled toothbrush.
Find a toothpaste that is made to help fight oral cavaties. A toothpaste full of antimicrobial and fluoride substances are recommended to help prevent tooth cavities. Floss or interdental products have been proven to correctly clean your teeth, in particular those hardly reached by your toothbrushes. In brushing, ensure you brush your outer tooth surfaces, inner tooth surfaces and chewing tooth surfaces. Include your tongue in brushing to get rid of bacteria that grow on it. Just clean your tongue gently to avoid any difficulty in the long run. It's advocated using 18 inches of dental floss in flossing and wind it around the center fingers of your two hands. Stroke it gently between your teeth.
Using mouth rinse can further ensure the cleanliness of your mouth when practice with regular flossing and brushing. Anti-microbial mouth wash can tremendously help in decreasing bacteria and plaque activity. Mouth rinse also a good support to battle dental cavities. However, using dental solutions without having the approval from dentist is not advisable. Not all dental products are best for you. You need also take into account that there are dental products not best to certain age ranges. For instance, fluoride rinses aren't appropriate for children six years old and below as they are likely to consume some amount of the rinse.
